Samsung held a pre public launch event at one of the London’s top locations where we went hands on with the next most anticipated smart phones besides HTC One. Samsung has been working on some software features a little less on the hardware or real estate of the new Galaxy S4. The new HTC’s flagship device, the HTC One has had praises from most Tech publications both online and offline mainly on the design which features a full aluminium body.
At just 7.9mm thick, the Samsung #GALAXYS4 is slimmer than its predecessor but packs more of a punch with its 1.9 GHz quad core processor . It introduces the world’s first ever full HD Super AMOLED display which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, making it a durable travel companion.
The Samsung GALAXY S4 is also equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera for exceptional photos and boasts a ‘Dual Camera’ function – a feature that allows both rear and front cameras to take simultaneous photos and videos. This means users can capture their special moments in a unique collage of small and large images which blends both the subject of the photograph and the setting in an original and imaginative way.
Some may argue that it is a good thing Samsung stuck to their design, with the opportunity to remove and replace your battery as well as expand your memory capacity with a microSD card, those features the HTC One is lacking in. We also have hands on with some of the  6 features that might make you chose the GalaxyS4 over the HTC One and other Smart Phones out now.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Hands On Video:
S Translate:
Samsung has taken innovation to another level with the S Translate feature with the ability to speak to the Galaxy S4 and your language translated to another language. This is a cool feature that would come in handy for anyone who travels to a different country or even as we now live in a multicultural society, you might even find it useful in your hometown perhaps even for learning a new language.
Smart Pause:
This feature is another one that caught our eyes, it actually works well and can come in handy for when you are watching those TV series and you get distracted for any reason, you do not have to stress about pausing, simply move your head away and your video is smartly paused and resumes when you head is back in frame.
S Health:
Smart Phones are becoming more than just telecommunication devices, they can now be used for health purposes too, thanks to Samsung’s innovation you can count steps taken through out the day, calories and with some integration you even check blood sugar level, this feature is definitely onto a winner and could put gadgets like Jawbone up or Nike + out of business.
Dual Camera:
This is awesome, you can now be in the shot when taking those family portraits or you find yourself with a group of friends and wished you were there or may be you want to record your reaction while recording your child walk for the first time, this feature is for you. It also has various modes just to add spice and make it fun.
Group Play:
Group play functions using NFC technology and allowing you to connect with up to 8 other Galaxy S4s’; you will be able to play the same music together and if you were in a meeting or at your family dinner you can all look at the same photos or documents together without invading personal space.
Samsung Knox:
The new Samsung Galaxy S4 is not just all fun or gimmicky features, it is also enterprise or business ready; Knox allows you to be able to separate work from personal; you can have a healthy work/life balance with Knox and with the uprise of BYOD at work place, your IT department can help keep work and your personal life separate. That way you can simply get away from work while you are at home and vice versa.
There are many other features available like Air Gesture, but those above are definitely ones that sets the Galaxy S4 apart from its competitors, again Samsung are only just scratching the surface here with some of this innovations.  The Galaxy S4 is available for pre-order from most UK network providers with sales starting from the 27th of April.
