What's This?

There are many self-help apps out there which help with various problems people have. Some deal with stress and some with mental health issues, but these examples are useful when it comes to improving confidence and self-esteem.

 1. Self Esteem Daily Affirmations (Free on iOS)

This app serves as a daily reminder that you really are worth it and shouldn’t accept any less than you deserve! You’re reminded to read (and read out loud) repeated daily affirmations and truths, in true Tony Robbins style, which helps build self-worth and confidence.

2. Confidence Coach ($4.99 on iOS)

Confidence Coach is an application which helps build confidence by using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. It allows you to fully appreciate your qualities and aids you in finding those hidden strengths. The app walks users through a range of proven behavioural and cognitive techniques, which build self-esteem, creating productivity and overall happiness.

3.  iCounselor: Anxiety ($0.99 on iOS)

This effective and lighthearted app offers suggestions to help your current state of mind based on your current anxiety levels. Once your level of anxiety has been identified, you must select one of ten possible calming activities to perform.

4. The New Age Handbook ($0.99 on iOS and Android)

The New Age Handbook is a self-empowerment app aimed at women, giving advice on goal setting, stress management, building self-esteem, and even some added extras like yoga and aromatherapy. It teaches about self-empowerment through the New Age Movement, helping improve the lives of women who may be feeling suppressed in a male dominated world.

5. iBody – get in shape ($9.99 on iOS)

If your social awkwardness comes from a lack of confidence in your body, then this app might just be for you. At $9.99 it certainly is high end, but you do get what you pay for. iBody is quite possibly the most comprehensive weight-loss app available. It’s better than other calorie-counting apps as it also measures your cholesterol levels and blood pressure. It even constantly keeps track of your target weight.

6. Build Confidence ($2.99 on iOS and Android)

A popular app by Andrew Johnson, Build Confidence is a relaxing guided meditation tool to listen to as you fall asleep. It will clear your mind of stress and, as you may have guessed from the app’s name, build your confidence.

7. Self Esteem Building Guide (Free on iOS and Android)

This basic app is made up of four chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on how a positive outlook is essential for a positive life. Chapter 2 looks at how your feelings are “all in the mind,” and maintaining control of your feelings. Chapter 3 is all about overcoming negative feelings, and the final chapter talks about your self-image and self-worth.

So, if you’re looking to improve your self-esteem and confidence, or generally decrease your social awkwardness, then at least one of these apps will be beneficial to you. There are hundreds of other self-help apps out there which you could try, but the ones here are most definitely a good place to start.
