The next manufacturer to introduce their flagship device is Oppo who already made their intentions known with their previous releases. This time not only is their new flagship device capable of taking 50 Megapixel photos, it is also the world’s first smartphone with QHD display (Quad HD) and that is spread across its 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixels and 538PPI, the display is simply spelling out high quality display for watching movies, reading books or playing games.
The Find 7 is going to come in two versions, the Oppo Find 7 with 1440p and Oppo Find 7a version with 1080p display; the 7a is aimed at the emerging markets. The camera is actually a 13-megapixel camera with Sony’s IMX214 CMOS sensor that achieves the 50MP shots by combining multiple images together to result in a 50-megapixel image. The camera doesn’t stop there, its also capable of Recording 4K videos at 30 fps, 720p slow-motion at 120 fps also; on the front is a 5-megapixel f/2.0 camera with BSI Sensor around front.
The 7a sports a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 2,800mAh battery ,5.5-inch 1080p display and cost $499 while the Premium version features a Snapdragon 801, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 3,000mAh ,2560 x 1440 display and cost $599.
Oppo also mentioned their own version of what Beats Audio is to HTC, the MaxxAudio plus Dirac HD audio chip which promises better audio quality when listening to music or watching movies and they also announced faster charging battery with the ability to go from 0 – 75% in 30 minutes; been able to quickly power up your smartphone when the battery is running out is a massive bonus for the power hungry users.
Oppo Find 7 will come with Oppo’s iteration Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, called Color OS 1.2 and connectivity options includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, AGPS, USB OTG (on-the-go), 3G and 4G LTE. With the pricing set for such a powerful device, Oppo should see a successful launch of their new flagship device.
