The three LG G Pads were originally announced by the South Korean manufacturer in May, but since then LG has not revealed anything about the three tablets , making us wonder if these would be competitors to the Galaxy Note Pro or more mid-range Android tablets.
LG has finally revealed the specifications and release date for all three tablets and sadly none will be competing for the high-end of the market. The difference between the three units is small, all running the same specs, but coming with different battery sizes, internal storage and cameras.
The LG G Pad 7.0 is the cheapest and smallest of the three, with a 1280 x 800 display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 3MP rear camera and 4000mAh battery. LG is offering the G Pad 7.0 in black, white, orange and blue.
The specs for the G Pad 8.0 are more of the same, LG has kept the resolution and internals, but moved to 16GB of internal storage and a 4200mAh battery. Apart from the change in screen-size and minor internal changes, this is basically the same device.
The LG G Pad 10.1 has a big step up in the battery size, going from 4200 to 8000mAh. This will hopefully give us at least another day of battery life and the G Pad 10.1 is also available in black and red variants, unlike the other two devices.
This is a little disappointing, the resolution on the tablets makes them ancient history and the specs aren’t too exciting either. The design of the tablets does give us something to be happy about, but the market for these tablets is definitely the low-end.
QPair 2.0 will be available on the tablets, allowing users to move between mobile devices without losing their work. This is similar to Continuity on the iPhone and Mac, allowing users to shift between devices and continue on the same app.
