What's This?

Motorola still has the most attractive smartwatch running Android Wear, even with LG and Samsung announcing their own options. The problem is while Motorola keeps hyping up the Moto 360, the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are already available for people to try out.

To keep the hype up, Motorola has uploaded another teaser of the Moto 360 smartwatch. This time, Product Lead Lior Ron talks about why the company decided to make a circular smartwatch and stick to the original design of a watch.

The video reiterates a lot of what Motorola has already said, about developing a smartwatch in the same vein as older watches, keeping the classic circular look. The Moto 360 certainly has the looks going for it, compared to the wearables we’ve seen so far.

It still keeps a lot of the Moto 360 features under wraps, including the new charging method hinted at on the Moto 360 Hangouts live-stream. The Moto 360 will be water resistant and the strap will be replaceable, allowing some customisation.

Motorola might distribute the Moto 360 through the Moto Maker store, similar to the Moto X. Motorola might be able to develop customisable straps and perhaps different materials for the watch-face, allowing user choice when personalising the watch.

There is still no final date for the Moto 360 launch, all we know if Motorola is planning to launch it in the Summer. We expect August will be the month of release, considering September is never classed as Summer and we are already in July.

For all the attendees at Google I/O, they will receive a free Moto 360 once it is released, alongside the LG G Watch, Samsung Gear Live and Google Cardboard VR. For everyone else, the Moto 360 should be available for around £200, according to leaked reports.
