What's This?

Light debuts in the UK with the launch of the L16. The pocket-sized powerhouse replaces the bulk and weight of a traditional single-lens camera with many small lenses and sensors that lie at 45-degree angles across a flat plane. With every shutter release, 10 or more lenses capture the same scene from slightly different perspectives.

The L16 intelligently assesses the zoom level and chooses a combination of its 28mm, 70mm, and 150mm modules in each shot. These individual shots are then fused together to create an incredibly high – resolution 52MP still image.

Key features of the L16 include:

5x Continuous Optical Zoom

Mobile photography is all about flexibility, and with the L16 your settings can flex to meet the scene. From portraits to landscapes, the robust optical engine allows you to zoom continuously from 28mm to 150mm with outstanding detail at every focal length.

Creative flexibility

The L16 captures so much data with every shot, it generates a 3D depth map of the scene. T his extra information enables a radical new kind of photo editing: the ability to adjust the depth of field and focal plane after the shot. Noise reduction is another added perk of using ten cameras at once.

Built to fit in, designed to stand out

Light L16 Camera

It’s what’s inside the L16 that makes it special, but the unique design can’t be ignored. It’s light enough to leave your camera bag behind and at 165 x 84.5 x 24.05 mm it’s small enough to slide right into your back pocket so that you never have to miss a moment. The layout of the 16 lenses make it instantly recognisable, it’s a piece of kit designed to get people talking. The 5″ FHD touchscreen gives you access to every setting, and the rubberised non-slip grip keeps it steady in your hand.

Connected software

The L16 uses Android software much like your smartphone, which means wireless updates ensure your camera will get better, faster, and more powerful. We already have 4K video close to being pushed out. If you’re interested in the tech, it uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 + Light ASIC chip and a 4120mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery for up to eight hours of life. When it comes to connectivity you’re covered, with GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Pricing and Availability

The L16 camera is available on light.co for £1,850. Customers buying an L16 between 19-31 March will receive a 30% discount. For more information please visit https://light.co
