What's This?

If you were after a third-party controller for your Xbox, then you might want to check out what the folks from GameSir have to offer – the brand’s newest G7 SE controller offers all the features you’ll need from an Xbox control peripheral, although it does feature some cool additional functionality.

To be more specific, the G7 SE packs Hall Effect sticks, which add a bit of much-welcome control precision versus your average controller. Using the Hall Effect magnetic sensors, the controller allows for improved responsiveness, in addition to smoother and more accurate control input for a more enhanced gaming experience. GameSir adds that the Anti-drift design makes sure that the control sticks are extremely durable and reliable against premature wear and tear.

The controller’s design – while nothing revolutionary – is pretty standard, with your usual array of action buttons, a d-pad, twin analogue sticks, shoulder and trigger buttons, as well as your navigation buttons and Xbox button. There’s an LED indicator as well that lights up during usage.

Additionally, the G7 SE also incorporates back button quick latches, allowing users to disable unintended inputs instantly. GameSir says that this feature enhances gameplay by preventing unwanted button presses for uninterrupted gaming sessions. The buttons can be enabled or disabled depending on whatever game you may have running at the moment.

Inside, the controller features membrane buttons for a more silent and comfortable handling. Gamers can also use the different controller profiles instantly using specific button combinations, allowing for more flexibility when gaming. GameSir offers even more customisation by way of the GameSir Nexus software, which allows users tap into unlimited customisation options on their controller. This includes fine-tuning controller settings, individual button mapping, and such.

As for system compatibility, the controller will come with support for the Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, as well as Windows 10 and 11 for PC gamers. The G7 SE is also customisable in terms of design – users can swap its faceplates (which can be painted on) for a more personalised approach to their gaming setup. The controller does make use of a wired connection, with a detachable 3m USB-C cable which should be more than enough to cover most distances between your TV and couch. Users looking for wireless connectivity will have to look elsewhere, although this does reduce input lag during usage.

In terms of availability, the GameSir G7 SE Controller is now available at £49.99 from GameSir’s official website, AliExpress, and Amazon.
