Robot vacuums aren’t exactly a rarity these days – there are a wide variety of brands and manufacturers offering their take on robo-vacuum technology, but now and then we do get some clever additions along the way that spice things up a bit. With that in mind, Samsung recently teased its upcoming robot vacuum kit, which the company plans to unveil during CES 2024.
More specifically, Samsung is planning to showcase the “Bespoke Jet Bot Combo,” a two-in-one vacuum and mop robot cleaner that comes with added steam-cleaning functions, as well as AI-integrated smart features. Moohyung Lee, EVP and Head of the Customer Experience Team of the Digital Appliances Business at Samsung states:
“I am thrilled to introduce our innovative vacuum cleaner lineup for 2024, the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo™, which leverages our latest AI technology to meaningfully improve its usability… With powerful cleaning as a baseline, the new robot cleaner moves the consumer cleaning experience forward through innovative features. We firmly believe it will make cleaning more enjoyable for our customers.”
The Bespoke Jet Bot Combo features upgraded AI Object Recognition software, which Samsung says is a refinement of the technology previously introduced in the Bespoke Jet Bot AI+. With this, the vacuum can distinguish more objects, allowing it to navigate users’ homes in a more precise manner with the added benefit of a 3D sensor.
Samsung has designed its AI Object Recognition software to recognize space and stains for a more improved and accurate cleaning experience. With this, the vacuum can determine and categorize mapped areas such as kitchens, and living rooms, and give suggestions for “no-go zones” such as bathrooms and entrances, so only designated areas are included in a cleaning session.
Should the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo detect dirt or stains, it can head on back to the clean station to heat the mop pads using high-temperature steam and water, and remove tough stains with powerful spinning mops that can go up to 170 RPM.
Other features of the vacuum include automatic floor type detection to provide enhanced cleaning, which is powered by AI. With this, the vacuum will be able to distinguish between hard floors and carpeting, and can automatically change its suction power depending on the type of material that it’s currently cleaning. When cleaning carpets, the vacuum can also determine whether to lift the mop pads or detach them at the clean station to avoid cross-contamination.
As for the cleaning station, Samsung says that it can provide a 3-step Total Cleaning System for mop pads including auto wash, steam cleaning, and auto dry with hot air. It can also spray steam on the mop pads to reduce the risk of odor.
Of course, at the moment, Samsung isn’t revealing all the details about the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo vacuum just yet – attendees at CES 2024 can head on over to the Samsung booth once the event goes live for more details on the machine, including info such as pricing, regional availability, and more.
