OnePlus’ summer event saw the launch of several new devices including the very impressive Nord 4 and wallet-friendly Watch 2R. With that being said, the company also unveiled the new OnePlus Pad 2, its latest Android-powered tablet. Priced starting at £499, the OnePlus Pad 2 offers some pretty impressive hardware for users, and if you’re thinking of getting one then you might be curious as to what it offers – let’s take a look!

Display and Design
As with any other tablet, the biggest highlight on the OnePlus Pad 2 is its massive display. It comes with a 12-inch LCD panel with a 3000 x 2120 pixel resolution, and gets fairly bright (in terms of tablet standards at least) at up to a maximum of 900 nits of peak brightness. This screen is wrapped up in an aluminium body which comes with a fairly slim profile, with a thickness of just 6.49mm and a weight of 584 grams, at least according to OnePlus’ specs sheet.
It comes in a single “Nimbus Gray” colour, and a single display configuration as well, and pretty much resembles the first-generation OnePlus Pad, which is recognizable thanks to the central camera module on the rear panel – “if it ain’t broke,” we suppose.
Internals and Software
Another major selling point of the OnePlus Pad 2 is the chipset inside – like a lot of 2024 flagship Android devices, the Pad 2 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside, a much-welcome feature due to its capabilities and overall performance. There’s also an Adreno 750 unit onboard for graphics, alongside 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the tablet is powered by a large 9510 mAh battery, which also supports 67W fast charging (there’s also a bundled charger when you buy the tablet).
For software, the OnePlus Pad 2 features Android 14 inside, so you’re getting a current version of Google’s operating system. This does come layered with OnePlus’ very own Oxygen OS, which comes with some OnePlus-exclusive software features and apps, as well as generative AI functionality.
Other Features
As for camera hardware, the OnePlus Pad 2 comes with a rather basic setup, which is unsurprising for a tablet – on the back you’ll find a single 13MP main camera, without any secondary ultrawide or telephoto lens. Meanwhile on the front there’s an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording on the main camera maxes out at 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, and 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second for the front camera.
In terms of pricing and availability, the OnePlus Pad 2 is now available for buyers in the UK starting at £499, and can be pre-ordered at OnePlus’s official website.
