Infinix has spent a good amount of time and money expanding its smartphone lineup, and the company is going all-in with its Note 40 series devices for this year. Following a number of different Note 40 models, Infinix once again launched a new addition in the form of the Note 40X 5G, which leans towards a more budget-friendly price segment. With that being said, you might be curious as to what the Note 40X offers, so we’ve done a quick rundown of the phone’s specs on here – read on to find out!
Design and Display
Let’s talk about that design for a moment – one look at the device and it’s obvious that the Note 40X resembles a rather popular smartphone, mostly due to the familiar looking triple camera bump on the rear panel. We’re not mentioning any names, although it should be easy to pinpoint.
Of course being that it is a budget smartphone, the Note 40X is made from polycarbonate instead of more “premium” materials. Available in Starlit Black, Lime Green and Palm Blue colour options, this design wraps around a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, which features an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate – again, considering its budget designation these are pretty great features to have, and goes to show how much tech a manufacturer can cram into a budget device.
Internal Specs and Cameras
Of course on the other hand, Infinix did have to make certain considerations to keep the Note 40X within reach of most consumers. One area where this is most apparent is with the chipset used for the phone, the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It’s not a bad chip per se and should be more than enough for most day to day tasks, but it’s a clear reminder of the phone’s overall hardware limitations. The 40X is available in different storage configurations, with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, both with 256GB of internal storage. For software, the handset ships with Android layered with Infinix’s own XOS skin, which is based on Android 14.
Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery, a common sight in phones of this price range. It does charge slowly though, with a maximum speed of 18W. As for the trio of cameras on the back, the Note 40X features a 108MP main camera, which is accompanied by a 2MP macro camera as well as an AI lens. Meanwhile, selfies and video calls are handled by a single 8MP front facing camera.
Pricing and Availability
Given the high resolution camera, 120Hz display and generous storage options, it almost comes as a surprise that the Note 40X only costs 180 USD (when converted) for the maxed-out 12GB RAM option. Of course, considerations such as aftermarket support, software updates and camera performance factor in, but for buyers after a cheap smartphone with decent specs and all the bases covered might want to check out the Infinix Note 40X. It’s available in India starting on 9th August.
