Google Rumoured to be Working on a New Laptop

First up we have Google – the company hasn’t launched a new laptop since the Pixel Book Go from many years ago, but it looks like we might see a new Google-branded computer in the next few years. Leaked details from within the company point to a device – simply codenamed “Snowy” – which has gone past the concept stage, and is predicted to run on a version of Android which integrates Chrome OS features. Google has yet to confirm anything however, although we’d be lying if we said that this didn’t excite us.

Both devices likewise run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s most recent flagship smartphone chip, and the ROG Phone 9 features 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, while the Pro Model is a bit more beefed up with 24GB RAM and 1TB of storage.

Android 16’s First Dev Preview Starts Rolling Out

While Android 15’s launch still feels fairly-recent, it looks like we won’t have to wait as long to get the next big upgrade from Google, aka Android 16. Reports indicate that Google might roll out Android 16 at an earlier date in 2025 – in fact, the developer preview is out right now, and is available for devices, and it’s even rumoured that the Pixel 6 (including the Pixel 6 Pro and 6a) might receive Android 16, as they are included in the list of compatible devices for the dev preview.
