As Android 15 continues to arrive for more smartphone brands and models, we’re now getting different versions of the OS upgrade in a variety of flavours, and Nothing OS 3 is the latest to go live. Nothing recently announced that it’s starting to roll out the stable version of Nothing OS 3 for a number of smartphones, via a gradual launch timeline. With that said, you might be curious as to when Nothing OS 3 arrives for your device, so let’s go over some of the basics.

What’s Nothing OS 3?
Nothing OS 3 is essentially a customized version of Android that Nothing preloads on their smartphones. This is similar in principle to Samsung’s One UI and Xiaomi’s HyperOS for example, which come with a lot of changes and tweaks to Android’s overall looks and functionality, while keeping the core essentials of the operating system intact. This means a different set of wallpapers, themes and fonts for example, and some exclusive software that you won’t get anywhere else. It’s built with features from Android 15, meaning that users will get an updated version of the OS on their phones.
What Features Does it Come With?
There are a lot of under-the-hood changes found within Nothing OS 3, but right off the bat users can expect new changes and features – this includes a new AI-powered smart drawer mode which can easily categorize apps based on their type, a new Nothing Gallery app for photos and videos with expanded editing and search features, a new lock screen with tweaks to user customization, shared widgets which can be used alongside other users, a new countdown widget, and other visual changes to fonts and such. Which Phones will Get Nothing OS 3?
Nothing says that the update will first arrive for its newest smartphones, which include the Nothing Phone 2 and the Nothing Phone 2a. With that in mind though, it will of course provide the update for older models as well, so owners of the Nothing Phone 1, Phone 2a Plus , as well as the CMF Phone 1 (CMF being a sub-brand of Nothing). In case you don’t see the update yet on your device (via the Settings menu), you might just have to wait a bit for Nothing OS 3 to arrive in your region.
