LG’s New Monitors are Here, and they’re Packed with AI Features

If you’re in the market for a new smart monitor to complete your desktop setup, then you might want to check out what LG has in store with its new OLED evo monitors. Unveiled during CES 2025, the monitors include the new OLED evo M5 and G5, both of which pack some impressive hardware and software features. LG has also equipped them with newer AI tricks, including support for Microsoft Copilot.

LG’s OLED evo TVs run on its proprietary webOS interface with a smoother and more personalized home screen, and can easily integrate with Home Hub – this means that users can easily control and manage their different IoT devices on platforms including ThinQ and even Google Home, all through a single interface. Additionally, the webOS Re:New program provides access to the latest TV experience for five years. Of course, webOS works in tandem with newer AI capabilities.

With AI integrated into their systems, both the OLED evo M5 and G5 come with LG’s new α (Alpha) 11 AI processor Gen2, allowing for smarter and improved personalization, in addition to a host of other AI-based software features. The TVs are capable of using learning algorithms to detect low-resolution visuals such as older content, and apply enhanced scaling for sharper viewing. Also included is Dynamic Tone Mapping Professional that gives better control over HDR10 content for creators during production sessions.

The OLED evo series also comes with AI Sound Pro which supports virtual 11.1.2 channels of surround sound for better immersion, in addition to AI Picture/Sound Wizard that according to LG can run through over 1.6 billion image settings and 40 million sound profiles to set a more tailored configuration for viewers. Other new features include AI Remote which welcomes users by name, while AI Voice ID recognizes your voices and adjusts settings accordingly. Content search is handled using AI Search and Microsoft Copilot integration, and the AI Chatbot proactively assists users throughout. Displays can be further customized with with voice-controlled background creation using the Generative Image Gallery.

The 2025 OLED evo TVs also come with LG’s Brightness Booster Ultimate feature which is able to improve brightness levels at up to three times higher than other OLED models, at least according to LG. LG has equipped the new TVs with impressive-looking displays, with 4K resolutions and 165Hz refresh rates, making them ideal for gaming sessions as well. LG has added the Filmmaker Mode that comes integrated with Ambient Light Compensation, automatically adjusting picture settings to keep a filmmaker’s original vision when displaying movies.

In the case of the M5, LG has equipped its new model with wireless capabilities. This allows the TV to delivers wireless audio and video transmission at up to 144Hz with barely any latency or loss in picture and sound quality. LG has also extended its advanced wireless audiovisual technology to its QNED TV lineup.
