While North America has mostly had a limited selection in terms of premium Android smartphones, it’s probably safe to say that the rest of the world enjoys the benefit of having more choices and freedom, at least when it comes to different smartphone brands. This of course includes the foldable device market segment, which has seen fierce competition from the likes of Samsung, Honor, and more recently Oppo, which unveiled its new Find N5. It’s touted as the world’s thinnest foldable device at the moment, and Oppo promises some other useful features as well.

In terms of design, the Oppo Find N5 measures at just 8.93mm when folded and 4.21mm when open – this is half the width of most smartphones, making the Find N5 pretty much the thinnest Android foldable on the market right now. Oppo says that it’s made some improvements to durability, particularly with the phone’s hinge. According to the company, the Find N5 comes with a “Titanium Flexion Hinge” which it claims is made using aerospace-grade Grade 5 titanium alloy, allowing for 36% more rigidity and being 26% smaller. It’s also designed with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings, adding a bit of protection from water.

As for the displays, the Find N5 features LTPO OLED panels for both the front and foldable screens. The phone’s external display gets a decent peak brightness of 2,450 nits, while the inner folding display packs 2,100 nits. The inner display also features a Dual Shielded Flexible Screen, which comes with enough flexibility to withstand and absorb most instances of impact. The external display measures 6.62 inches with a resolution of 1140 x 2616 pixels and Nanocrystal protection, while the inner display comes in at 8.12 inches with 2248 x 2480 pixels.

Like a lot of other Android flagships this year, the Find N5 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a rather unsurprising choice. It’s accompanied by 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM, although the maxed out version of the phone features up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. Powering the phone is a 5,600 mAh battery, an impressive setup especially when you consider how thin the phone is. It also supports 80W wired charging speeds in addition to 50W wireless charging, both of which undoubtedly come in handy when you’re in a pinch. For software, the phone also comes with ColorOS 15 on top of Android 15, along with some Oppo-exclusive apps and software features.

For its cameras, the Oppo Find N5 features a primary 50MP wide lens with an f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization, accompanied by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The camera system includes Hasselblad Color Calibration and a color spectrum sensor, and for video the phone supports 4K recording at 30 and 60 frames per second, along with gyro-EIS, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. The device is also equipped with both an 8MP front-facing selfie camera and an 8MP cover camera, both of which also support 4K video recording.
As for price, the Oppo Find N5 costs around £1,500 when converted, although sadly Oppo says that it’s not available for European markets or the United Kingdom, which is a shame given the device’s promising hardware.
