What's This?

During MWC 2025, Nothing finally took the wraps off its new Nothing Phone 3a series, revealing two devices that expand upon its smartphone lineup, which was originally launched back in 2022. With that in mind, the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro come with a lot of signature features seen on earlier devices, such as the semi-transparent build and the custom “Glyph” LED notification system, to name a couple. They also feature more versatile camera systems when compared to their predecessors, and even when compared to competing smartphones in the same price bracket.

Priced at £329 for the standard 3a and £449 for the 3a Pro, Nothing promises a more refined approach to Android with its new devices. This also makes them considerably cheaper than other recently-announced midrange devices such as the Samsung Galaxy A56 and iPhone 16e, but what else can you expect from Nothing’s new phones?

Hold the Phone 3a and 3a Pro side by side and you can easily tell one from the other thanks to the camera setup on the rear panel, which comes with pretty obvious differences to tell which from which. While both phones sport triple-camera arrays, there are some key distinctions between the 3a and the 3a Pro’s camera hardware. Both feature 50MP main cameras (albeit using different sensors), and even 50MP telephoto lenses – the big difference being that the 3a uses a telescopic telephoto lens, versus the periscope lens on the 3a Pro.

For the phones’ ultra-wide cameras, both the 3a and 3a Pro come with a Sony-made IMX355 sensor, the only common hardware component between the two (in terms of photography). For selfie photos and videos, the 3a uses a 32MP camera, versus a 50MP shooter on the 3a Pro. We actually have a full review of the Nothing 3a Pro, which you can check out below for a more detailed breakdown of Nothing’s new “budget flagship” handset.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip runs the show on both devices, and is accompanied by 12GB of RAM as well as 256GB of internal storage. The rest of the specs between the 3a and 3a Pro are essentially the same, including a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen that gets bright at up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, with a 120hz refresh rate to boot. other details include 5,000 mAh batteries with 33W charging, and Nothing’s new “Essential Space” that gives quick access to AI features via a dedicated hardware key.

As for software, the new phones run on Android 15 paired with the latest version of Nothing OS, and Nothing adds that it will provide up to three years of major Android upgrades, with additional years for regular security patches.
