Gadgetsboy attends GadgetShowLive 2012
Tuesday 10th April at Birmingham NEC, Gadgetsboy attended the UK’s biggest five-day consumer electronics event showcasing the world’s top tech. The event hosts to over a 100,000 gadget lovers and over 280 technology exhibitors.
Today’s event was only open to press giving them the opportunity to preview the products before the general public. The exclusive event may have gave granted early access to press but the infamous theatre show that consists of a live performance packed full of presenter challenges, high octane stunts, mass participation activities and the chance for you to win some amazing new tech will commence on the official event day.
This year event is tipped to be the largest one yet with tickets selling out and forcing organisers to release 10,000 additional tickets. Last year saw over 100,000 gadget fans attend the gadget packed event; organisers are now claiming the event will peak at around 135,000 visitors.
The Gadget Show live akin to its television show will give people an exclusive insight into the fast paced gadget world. The event is widely recognised as the best place to see, try and buy the latest consumer technology for the reason that the 280 exhibitors will include world known brands such as

- Motion Simulator

- SMS Audio by 50 Cent
Not only giving the visitors a preview into technology of tomorrow but also the chance to play with some of the tech also.
Throughout the event Gadgetsboy made its way through the large event that featured a range of dedicated tech zones including the International Future Tech Zone, Active Zone, Game Zone, Home Gadget Zone, In-Car Zone, UK Inventor Village, Music Zone, Photographic Zone, Hall of Fame and Showcase Stage. Â Hip Hop star 50 cent was also there to show off his headphones, which offered wireless connection via a connected dongle to you audio source without losing sound quality; when I asked 50 cent how long the battery lasts for, He stated 15 – 18 hours which was quite impressive. Â The headphones does not need battery which is a unique selling point for many.
Stalls you must see
Motion Simulation E100 – You can have a go at the simulation developed by ariel atom for those into car racing and set lap times. I must admit I was beaten.
Polaroid (B100) – Take some photos with the new digital/poloroid cameras
Bamboo – Nice stylus for iPad with better precision.
AyeGear Glasgow Ltd (D251) – A jacket that can hold most of your gadgets.
CANON (UK) LTD (B70) – Great photography technology with a good show to keep you engaged.
Solo Wheel UK (FT10) – Awesome piece of kit that left my jaw dropped, we won’t have to walk anywhere soon.
3M / Personal Projector Ltd (D172) – Awesome personal projectors that can fit in your pocket; you can have your cinema everywhere or take it with you for presentations.
There are other exciting stands, but those above caught my attention with their innovations.

The Gadget Show Live is a yearly event that takes place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre in April. The show features an exhibition with all the year’s must-have gadgets. The show also features a super theater, sponsored by Sony, which features an exclusive 1 hour show presented by Suzi Perry, Jason Bradbury, Jon Bentley, Ortis Deley and Pollyanna Woodward. In 2011, the show took place between April 12 and April 17. The 2012 show is scheduled for 11-15 April and will include all 5 presenters (Jason, Polly, Suzi, Jon & Ortis).
