What's This?

We heard the HTC One was going to be delayed due to some parts taking longer than first expected, and now the company has come out and said they will be delaying launch in some markets, sadly.

The HTC One’s main problem was the Ultrapixel camera, which they have been touting as the main feature for this new smartphone. First reviews say while the camera is very impressive for low light situations, it does produce more noise and photos can be grainy.

Impressively, the One has gained many great reviews, with many reviewers claiming it is the best smartphone out right now. It packs the most pixel dense display, one of the fastest processor and is an all-round stellar performer.

Weirdly, the phone is already available for order in Germany and 02 are continuing to allow users to put money forward for the smartphone. This is especially odd, because the main cuts were going to be in Europe. Perhaps only some countries will miss out.

There is no news on a US release, as HTC has yet to sort problems out with the carriers. Unlike Europe, for a phone to launch in the US, it needs to be supported by carriers. This is one of the main problems for phone startups working in the US, their phone will never be supported by AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.

HTC say they are still pushing to have all smartphone pre-orders in the hands of users by the end of March, but some areas will have delays until April. We have yet to hear what areas will be most smartphone deprived.

This is unfortunate, especially considering the HTC One could be their last shot in the smartphone market, with a year-on-year downturn in performance and revenue.
