Everyone wants to have the latest gadgets, and these days more than ever devices like tablets, phones and computers are fashion statements just as much as they are practical productivity aids. The downside though is that most of the latest and most desirable technology is rather expensive, which is why most of us have to make do with phones that are a few years old or computers that are still running Windows from three releases back.
But while you might dream of the iPhone 5 or Surface Pro, there are those who go much beyond that. If you ever won the lottery, then there would be some much more impressive ways to spend that money on upgrading your tech. Read on to see some of the coolest devices you could buy if you had just a little more cash…
Table Top Computers
These things might not be outside the realms of possibility for most of us, but they still represent a hugely extravagant purchase that will set you back a couple of thousand. These 40’’+ tablets are designed to lie flat on top of a table or even embedded into the furniture and run a GUI from Microsoft called ‘Pixel Sense’ that allows multiple users to work simultaneously on their own corner of the table, or to play board games/share photos together in an intuitive touch friendly way. If you want technology for impressing guests, then this is it!
Devices That Aren’t Out Yet
This is a broad category, but there is a whole wealth of technology out there that isn’t available yet commercially and that makes it incredibly desirable. If you want to be a true ‘early adopter’, then all it takes is a little cash to get yourself your own ‘Google Glass’ (augmented reality specs) or ‘Occulus Rift’ (awesome virtual reality headset).
JetLev
The JetLev is a piece of kit that allows you to fly like a superhero as long as you’re over a body of water. It works by sucking up water then blasting it out of a ‘jetpack’ type setup, and it’s no doubt an exhilarating experience. You can buy these for several thousand if you get in touch with the makers, but you will need more money than sense as I’m not sure what you’d do with it after the novelty had worn off…
Electric Cars
While the Tesla Model S car was designed to make the electric car affordable and commercially viable, it’s still out of reach for most budgets. This is a shame as the silent cars not only feel like something from the future, but also offer great savings subsequently and help you to feel good about yourself as you help the planet.
High Tech Home Spa
Technology isn’t all about computers and cars, it’s also about home automation and the latest luxury. For instance, install an indoor pool with retractable ceiling, sauna and hot tub in your home and you’ll find that you never feel stressed again… and that suddenly you have a lot more visitors…
And the good news is that the individual parts of this set-up needn’t cost too much. You may well be surprised to learn you can already afford an indoor pool and retractable roof for instance…
Home Theatre
And if that doesn’t impress the neighbours, how about building your own home theatre? Think huge high resolution (4K), 3D screen, with surround sound and great seating and lighting. There are few people who wouldn’t want that in their home and few more enjoyable ways to blow all your winnings on technology…
FlyNano
Want to be the ultimate eccentric millionaire while also offering your friends the most fun they’ll likely have this year? The Flynano is a small personal flight machine with minimal legal restrictions and maximum fun. Fulfil your dream of flying free as a bird and get to feel like James Bond at the same time.
Segway
The ultimate posing device for the rich and lazy is the Segway. Who needs to walk when you can just ‘lean forward’ to propel yourself down the road. Lazy though they are, these things are fun and they make you feel powerful… so why not?
These are just a few of the technological wonders that the super wealthy can spend their money on, there’s much more out there for anyone who. What’s really exciting though is that all these things are only going to come down in price. This is a glimpse of the future and ten years from now you’ll probably have all those things if you want them. The future is bright…
