What's This?

There have been plenty of rumours regarding the low-cost iPhone, reportedly launching with the iPhone 5S and iOS7 at Apple’s event on September 6, alongside the new MacBook Pro and some other revamps.

We believe the official name for the low-cost iPhone may be the iPhone 5C, although what the C stands for is up for debate. Like the S model, it may have little meaning, but just represent a small change on the phone’s design.

Apple has even went as far as having the packaging for the new iPhone 5C plastic, looking a lot like the box for any mid-range HTC device. It isn’t the usual rectangle cardboard box we are use to seeing from Apple, but it may differ in countries.

Changes on the iPhone 5C include having a range of different bright colours, some are nice, others make us want to puke out our innards. Apple may look to liven up the phone, as they did with the iPod Touch range.

We believe the iPhone 5C will also sport a low 480p resolution, while the iPhone 5S may push the boundaries with a 720 or 1080p display. This is still under wraps and all we have heard is the iPhone 5C will be a little less compelling, but with Android pushing way ahead in specs, we worry Apple will lose customer interest if the specs aren’t cutting edge.
