The BlackBerry Z30 has been a mysterious device, but a new leak alongside the BlackBerry Z10 and Q5 shows us most of what we already didn’t know about the device.
It seems the BlackBerry Z30, recently renamed from the BlackBerry A10, will be the newest flagship on BB10. The phone will join the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 as top of the line devices from the company.
Unlike the BlackBerry Z10, that has a 4.2-inch screen, the BlackBerry Z30 will reach to 5-inches. It will be the biggest smartphone BlackBerry has launched with a full touchscreen and may fit in the BB10 line, keeping the BlackBerry Z10 relevance for those who don’t want a large screen.
Inside the BlackBerry Z30, there will be a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon chipset, 2GB of RAM and a quad-core Adreno GPU. The Z30 will have a 720p OLED display and the same back as the BlackBerry Z10.
The BlackBerry Z30 is likely to come alongside the BB10.2 update, set to include WiFi Direct Access and a new Quick Settings control menu. Quick Settings can be accessed with a down swipe on the screen, sticking the gesture control. The BlackBerry Z30 is likely to have five rows of icons, instead of four on the Z10.
We wonder if BlackBerry will be a position this year to really take the market. The BlackBerry Z30 looks like the best device coming from the Canadian smartphone maker, but will it be enough to encourage Android, iOS and Windows Phone fans away from their chose operating system and onto BB10.
