What's This?

The Tizen project is still in Samsung’s baby stages, but we may start to see a rollout of the new mobile OS within the year, according to a new report published on an early build running on the NTT DoCoMo carrier service already.

With the SGH-N055 model number, a new bug report shows the device is out in the world. It is odd to see out of all the places to test the smartphone, Samsung has went to Japan with the NTT DoCoMo service. This may be one of many carriers already in with Samsung to launch the Tizen device.

The device is currently being tested by third parties, we do not know if the parties will only be carriers or could be other manufacturers invested in the Tizen project. From what we know Tizen OS will function similar to Android or Ubuntu, with open source technology.

Samsung has been the only manufacturer to come forward and say they are developing a device for Tizen OS, as it is their own build we can see why they are invested in the project. Some analysts say Tizen could be the third biggest OS in the world if Samsung pushes the brand into the US and other countries.

Right now we have no set date, but rumours about a Tizen device within the year could point to a September or October launch.
