What's This?

Motorola has revealed a new Moto X accessory and once again we question if this was a Motorola design choice or Google. The new accessory, called Moto Skip, allows the user to bypass the authentication pattern or PIN on a phone, simply by touching the Moto X with the small NFC clip.

Moto Skip can be attached to anything and once the Moto X is paired with the clip, it works automatically. Whenever the clip touches the phone, it will automatically open the smartphone. This is necessary, according to Motorola, with users averaging about forty phone checks per day; 100 for power users.

The Moto Skip accessory will come with three Skip Dots, they are NFC stickers. The user can stick them anywhere in the house, office or anywhere else they may find themselves regularly to open the device instantly, we are not sure if the user has to pair each Skip Dot.

Motorola will only offer the Moto Skip on the Moto Maker and this is currently an AT&T exclusive. The clip is set to come in a range of colours, but initially Motorola will offer it in black and grey. All buyers on the Moto Maker get a free Moto Skip and three Skip Dots.
