Yes, it’s finally been revealed: On Wednesday 7th August the new G2 smartphone from electronics giant LG was officially announced in New York. As the predecessor of the Optimus G, it has lots of clever features and an instinctive, sleek design. See it here!
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the 5.2 inch full HD IPS display has life-like colours and over 400 pixels-per-inch resolution. Not only that, the 2.3GHz quad-core processor features a Snapdragon chipset so it can multitask without slowing down.
The G2 really thinks about the user and how they will interact with the phone, offering intuitive functions and making simple tasks easy. As the presenter at the launch said, “It solves problems that you may not even know you hadâ€.
The back of the phone is home to the one and only button, offering a more comfortable way to access the volume while you’re on a call. The power button, volume rocker, camera and Quick Memo are all accessed from here, where your fingers naturally rest.
The 13 mega pixel smartphone camera has an anti-fingerprint lens (made with Sapphire Crystal glass) and optical image stabilisation, giving you clear pictures of moving objects and crisp photos at night.
You’ll also get high quality audio from this device, rivalling that produced in a professional recording studio. The smartphone supports 24-bit, 192 kHz hi-fi playback and has advanced noise cancellation. The three inbuilt microphones offer an audio zoom, so you can focus the direction of the sound you want to record.
Another really smart element is the guest mode which allows you to customise access to your phone. Give a friend a separate passcode and they can only open apps and features of your choice!
