When it comes to modern computing, there’s no doubt that Acer is one of the biggest brands in the industry thanks to its many years of developing some of the most impressive machines available on the market. With that in mind, the company recently announced a number of new laptop models, all of which come with some rather impressive hardware, and even built-in AI software features. Let’s check them out!
Predator Helios Neo 14 and Acer Nitro 16
First up we have the Predator Helios Neo 14 and the Acer Nitro 16. Acer’s high-end gaming laptops extend beyond the Predator branding (as seen with its Nitro series), although they are specifically tuned for slightly different use cases, mostly in terms of portability. With that said though, both machines are designed to give users the most out of their hardware.
As such, the two laptops feature the latest Intel Core and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs which can cater to graphics-intensive usage, in addition to AI-powered graphics features geared for work and play. The laptops also come with WQXGA displays, complete with 165Hz refresh rates and support for 100% of the sRGB colour gamut.
As you can probably tell by the name, the Predator Helios Neo 14 is the more backpack-friendly option of the two, thanks to the slightly-smaller 14-inch display. Priced starting at at £1,799.99, the laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor; meanwhile, the more affordable Acer Nitro 16 packs a larger display at 16 inches, although you’ll find that it runs on an an Intel Core i7 processor – it’s priced starting at £1,499.
Given that the generative AI craze has continued to sweep across the industry with widespread adoption among major manufacturers, Acer has also equipped both laptops with AI-integrated features, such as Acer PurifiedVoice for noise reduction, and even Microsoft Copilot for faster access to assistance.
Acer Nitro 14
If you find the Nitro 16 a bit too large for your liking, then Acer also announced the launch of the Nitro 14 – as with the Predator Helios Neo 14, the Nitro’s 14-inch display makes it a bit easier to bring along on trips and commutes. For performance, the laptop runs on AMD’s Ryzen 8040 processor, which works in tandem with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU.
Unsurprisingly, the Acer Nitro 14 also comes with built-in AI features, such as AMD’s Ryzen AI technology, NVIDIA’s RTX AI platform, as well as Acer’s own suite of AI software such as PurifiedVoice 2.0, Acer PurifiedView keeps you looking sharp on video chats, and a pre-installed copy of Microsoft Copilot in Windows comes pre-installed with a dedicated key for faster access to everyday tasks. The Acer Nitro 14 also includes one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, granting access to hundreds of high-quality PC games.
In terms of availability, buyers in the UK can expect the Acer Nitro 14 to arrive sometime in June. As for pricing, the laptop will come in starting at £1099 to £1399.
