The HTC One Mini has been the subject to a huge amount of leaks and a new photo leak from Engadget may be the icing on the cake. While we still do not know when it will be released, we know it is real and in the wild.
Rumoured to be the HTC M4, we heard about the Mini before the HTC One was even released. Surprisingly, it has took the company quite a while to bring the smaller version to the market, although it is believed to be coming in Q3 this year.
Inside the HTC One Mini will be a dual-core Snapdragon 400 chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and 2,300mAh battery. This is all fine and mid-range, for first time Android users it may be the ideal way to sink into the experience without paying a truck load.
The design of the HTC One Mini will remain largely the same as the original HTC One, although there may be more bezel on the Mini with a plastic front design.
We believe this will be the only device with the ‘One’ name – Samsung has released the GS4 Active and Zoom, but we doubt HTC has the ability to pull of as many high-tier devices in one push, already slipping on shipments for the HTC One.
Given the mid-range specs, we expect the HTC One Mini to come at $99 with a two year contract or $450 off contract, as the HTC First did, lets hope it does a little better than the Facebook phone.
