It’s been a day since Apple released their q2 earnings and how they’d significantly dropped, and now they’ve released the date of WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference), to be set in June 21st at San Francisco. To go to the conference you have to be an already existing developer on Apple’s iOS Developers Program and be able to afford the $1,599 it costs to go there for the 4 days. But what can we expect?
Apple have kept this one under wraps more so than years before, and with the lack of leaked photos of new devices alongside Cook hinting that we won’t be seeing any new device from Apple TV to the new iPhone, however a recent press release from SVP Phil Schiller promises that we will be seeing brand new versions of both iOS and OS X stating
Our developers have had the most prolific and profitable year ever, and we’re excited to show them the latest advances in software technologies and developer tools to help them create innovative new apps. We can’t wait to get new versions of iOS and OS X into their hands at WWDC,
Alongside this there is speculation that Apple will be releasing it’s own answer to Pandora. Gartner analyst Van Baker has believes this to be true saying : “The installed base that Apple already has will make it immensely popular from the outset”. Other views see apple releasing an App store to it’s Apple TV product, including games, more channels and social integration.
Saying all this though, Apple have been very quiet for a long time now and there has been no ground breaking or dramatic releases for a while. With this being said Apple need to do something quickly or else consumers may look elsewhere for their new tech.
Tickets to previous WWDCs’ has always been a sellout within few hours and so many developers and Tech publications or Apple fans alike will be at the ready clicking and refreshing their screens in attempts to get hold of tickets. Â GagdetsBoy will not be attending but we will be following the conference very closely.
