Not too long after the launch of its enterprise-focused NUC 14 Pro AI computer, ASUS also heralded the arrival of its new Windows gaming laptop, the ASUS V16. While it is an entry-level model not under the company’s ROG brand of monitors, the V16 nevertheless packs a ton of neat features, such as a capable processor and GPU that should be enough for most productivity and gaming needs. What else does it come with though? Let’s find out.

Right off the bat, there’s a lot of stuff that the V16 gets right. There are different processor configurations, but the laptop maxes out with Intel’s Core 7 series CPU, which makes for a decent workhorse as far as everyday productivity and gaming are concerned. You also get an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU which works alongside an integrated cooling system featuring dual fans and heat pipes. For RAM, there’s up to 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 in dual memory slots.
As for display quality, there’s a 16-inch IPS panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio as well as a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which should make for an immersive user experience in general. It’s surrounded by relatively-slim bezels, and according to ASUS features an 89% screen-to-body ratio. Also included are Dirac audio technology and ASUS’ own Audio Booster feature for sounds.

All of this is wrapped in a pretty sleek design that features a backlit keyboard with a cool blue accent, in addition to neon-neon-highlighted transparent WASD and arrow keys and a matte black finish all over. ASUS adds that the V16’s touchpad is 40% larger compared to most similarly-sized laptops, with an added focus on ergonomics. It’s also durable – the ASUS V16 has apparently been tested for US military-grade laptop durability standard (MIL-STD-810H) using five test methods, so there’s a bit less worry about knocks and bumps when using the laptop out and about.
ASUS also states that the V16 comes with integrated AI noise-cancelation technology and 3DNR for enhanced video conferencing, so video calls should come through clear for the most part. Powering the laptop is a 63Wh battery.
As mentioned earlier, the V16 isn’t the only computer from ASUS to make its debut this December – ASUS also unveiled the NUC 14 Pro AI, a compact PC that runs on Intel’s Core Ultra series processors, and comes preloaded with Windows 11 and Microsoft Copilot+ AI features. The NUC 14 Pro AI is equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 processors (Series 2), which come with a “multi-architecture” design, although it’s marketed specifically for enterprise and business users.
With that in mind, there’s no word yet on pricing or availability, although we’re bound to know more details from ASUS soon.
