I currently have the 16GB Blackberry Playbook and it has been faithful to me but I can see why Blackberry would be killing off the 16GB version in favor of the bigger sizes. Â The prize differences between the range means most people can afford the 32GB or 64GB versions also baring in mind that they are losing value, it might even be worth going straight to the 64GB version. Â The statement below was posted on engadget:
Update: RIM’s PR has responded with the following statement:
RIM will no longer be making the 16 GB model of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. The 16 GB PlayBook will continue to be available for distributors and retailers while quantities last. We continue to remain committed to the tablet space and the 32 GB and 64 GB models of the BlackBerry PlayBook continue to be available from our distributors and retailers around the world.
There is more value for our customers in the higher capacity models (32 GB, 64 GB), and as such we have decided to focus our efforts here.

I would have thought that the trouble BlackBerry are i they would offer the cheaper 16GB version of the Playbook to encourage people to try their products. I have a 16GB version of the Playbook and find 16GB to be enough for my needs
its the price margin, it makes no sense to buy the 16gb when you can get 32gb version for few pounds more
