For a lot of users, choosing a web browser platform can be difficult and for some they already like the functionality of the likes of Chrome, Firefox and others. For me, since the release of Google Chrome, i have been a religious user.
Chrome for iOS, was announced at Google IO; the latest iteration of Chrome, has features like tab sync to iPhone and iPad; and Chrome fans who dislikes the way Safari works or have been using it on their desktop and Macbook can now use Chrome on their iOS devices also; although it only seems to work in the US App Store for now and doesn’t fully function like full version. The Chrome browser can’t be set as default yet meaning when you open links, it would open up in Safari for now.
With the release of the beta iOS6, no doubt Google are also working very hard to make sure it’s fan base does not switch completely to Apple’s default applications although it won’t run on the powerful engine you get on Android kit.
“It’s not the Chrome rendering or JavaScript engines — the App Store rules forbid that. It’s the iOS system version of WebKit wrapped in Google’s own browser UI. The pressure for Apple to allow users to specify a third-party app as their default browser is going to increase significantly after this. (As I type this, it’s not yet in the App Store.)†John Gruber
