What's This?

Last year was the year when the gaming industry really embraced the Android platform and made some stunning games for our phones and tablets. The makers of some of the world’s most loved console and PC games like Football Manager, Lara Croft and Minecraft all made games that were as entertaining as their originals. But the game designers show no signs of stopping, as they continue to realise the possibilities of creating thrilling games that we can play wherever we are. So whether you’re a fan of platform, puzzle or online casino games, here are a few games we think you should download for your Android phone or tablet in 2016.

Another big name from the console world to make it onto Android devices is Rayman, who stars in the purpose built for mobile title Rayman Adventures. Released at the end of last year, the game has already impressed many by how similar the game play and graphics are to the console games. Unlike the console versions, the great thing is that the game is free to download onto Android devices.

If you enjoy casino games, then the app from online casino Coral is an essential game to download to your phone. Whether you like blackjack, slots or roulette the Coral online casino has a wide range of games and you can view them all and play them wherever you are by downloading their app. Some of the Coral games are even based on your favourite comic books, movies, celebrities and TV shows including Spiderman, Frankie Dettori and Deal or No Deal. The online casino is also available on iOS, so it really couldn’t be easier to play your favourite games on the move.

Another game making the big leap from console to mobile is Dead Effect 2. The graphics are so brilliantly gory in this first person shooter that it’s one of the few Android apps that has an age 18 rating. Alongside the atmospheric soundtrack and professional voice actors, this app will really give you sweaty palms when your adrenaline kicks in to help you escape from the walking dead. The game has over 25 hours of game play and the designers are constantly adding to that with regular updates. You can notice the change in your character as you work to train and develop them.

If you can’t get enough of the zombie-fighting action then The Walking Dead: Michonne is another game you should definitely download for your android device. Based on 13 editions of the original comic book series, this game will let you into the story of what took her away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of the gang which has previously been untold in the hit TV series. The game is available for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, but if you want to really get into this story and be able to take it with you wherever you go in your pocket then download it on Android.

So whether you want to shoot zombies or play online casino games, this is the year where your Android device gets even more entertaining.
