Edifier’s expertise in the audio hardware landscape has allowed it to amass a large roster of products, a lot of which now adopt modern wireless audio features – this includes anything from wireless speakers, monitors, and even consumer-grade earbuds. Speaking of the latter, Edifier recently announced the launch of the new NeoDots wireless earbuds, which pack a ton of nifty features.

In terms of design, Edifier has fitted the NeoDots with a look that balances familiarity with somewhat unique aesthetics – you’ll find the usual stemless look that you’ve probably seen before on other wireless earbuds, accompanied by silicone tips which can be replaced for a better fit. The same goes for the charging case, which comes with a pairing button and doesn’t do much to break the mold in terms of product design.
The earbuds do feature a unique shape, with an almost-flat panel that serves as the main touch control zone. Available in black and white, they also come with an IP55 rating, which adds some much-welcome resistance to dust and accidental splashes, although we wouldn’t suggest you go swimming with them, in or out of the charging case. There’s also wear detection onboard, a standard feature found on a lot of newer wireless earbuds.
Design aside, let’s talk about the things that matter more – for sound quality, Edifier says that the NeoDots come with Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. The earbuds feature 10mm dynamic drivers, with support for advanced digital signal processing. The earbuds also support LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs; as for noise cancelling, Edifier says that the earbuds can reduce external noise by as much as -48dB, and there’s a variety of different noise-cancelling modes including the usuals such as ambient mode and wind noise reduction. They can also be configured with Edifier’s smartphone app for EQ adjustments.
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the NeoDots is its battery life – Edifier claims that the earbuds can last for up to 17 hours of playtime, all on a single charge. In a market where most earbuds struggle to last for ten hours or more, having 17 hours is a much-welcome feature to have. Additionally, users can top up their battery with the charging case, which gets a total of 56 hours of playtime. That’s around double the hours it takes for a transatlantic flight in most cases.
As for price, the Edifier NeoDots are priced at £119, and are available for order via Edifier as well as other retailers including Amazon. This makes them affordable compared to other wireless earbuds such as the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, and the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 for example.
