Eye-Fi (www.eyefi.com), the global leader in digital camera connectivity, today launches its new desktop transfer, a function that allows Mobi users to instantly send photos and videos from a Eye-Fi Mobi WiFi SD card to a Windows or Mac desktop.
By simplifying the process between capturing and sharing, this free update comes as an expansion to Eye-Fi’s already established wireless sharing range. Previously only available to mobile devices, the new update now includes all desktop computers. Users can transfer video and images wirelessly, resulting in instant viewing and use with editing tools such as Adobe Lightroom or Aperture – simply by clicking a button.
“Thanks to insightful customer feedback, we thought the next step to take for the brand would be to add a desktop transfer function,” said Sam Hui, VP Product Management of Eye-Fi. “Instant sharing to desktop simplifies the transfer process, resulting in users being able to spend more time focusing on taking photos – not managing them.”
The Eye-Fi Mobi desktop transfer for Windows and Mac offers the same reliable features that Mobi customers already use and love, including:
- Simple setup: Once installed, simply enter the Mobi card’s unique 10-digit activation code, and your WiFi enabled computer is paired to your Mobi card. Use the same activation code to pair with multiple desktops and mobile devices as needed.
- Transfer anywhere: Built-in WiFi means no WiFi network, hotspot or home Internet connection is needed for pairing or transfer; Mobi transfers photos from a camera to the intended device anywhere, whenever new content is detected.
- Works with cameras users already know (and love): Mobi works in thousands of cameras, including hundreds of Eye-Fi connected cameras that have integrated Eye-Fi technology for improved usability.
- Backs up automatically: Photos and videos transfer as they’re taken, so if anything happens to the camera, content is already safe on your mobile or desktop.
Eye-Fi Mobi desktop transfer for Windows and Mac is available in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Italian and is free to Eye-Fi Mobi card users.
