The HTC One has brought new life in the Taiwanese mobile giant, with over 10 million sales worldwide and currently sitting on the top of the food chain as the best smartphone in the world.
While HTC has Android covered as much as they can, there is a significant gap in the Windows Phone 8, with Nokia still holding a prime position with little to no competition right now.
HTC developed the 8X and 8S, but against the Lumia 920 and Lumia 925 they do little to push the boundaries. We expect the HTC One on Windows Phone 8 will change that, with a full metal unibody and 1080p screen.
The smartphone will not be an exact copy of the HTC One on Android, we expect HTC will drop the quad-core Snapdragon 600 for a dual-core variant and may drop the screen down from 1080p to 720p, although we doubt this will happen.
We expect the Ultrapixel camera, Beats Audio and Boomsound to come on the phone, but the software features will not be ported to Windows Phone 8 because of OS restrictions, unless HTC want to go through the process to get Zoe and Blinkfeed on.
Overall it would seem like a huge step by HTC to move into Windows Phone 8, we have seen HTC try and fail before, but the HTC One seems to be one of the most wanted smartphones in the world right now.
