What's This?

While it hasn’t exactly been active in most Western markets in the past few years, Huawei has nevertheless been one of the more consistent smartphone brands in terms of overall hardware quality – with that in mind, the company recently announced the launch of its new Pura 70 series phones, which pack some premium hardware features and a new look. According to the company, the new Pura branding is geared “towards a fusion of leading imaging technology, aesthetic design and original style.”

The Pura 70 series consists of three phones, which are the Pura 70, 70 Pro, and 70 Ultra. Of course as with any new smartphone launch these days, the three handsets carry some key differences in between. Let’s check them out!

Huawei has also included “AI HDR” for enhanced high dynamic range when viewing media and content, all the more made visually-appealing thanks to an adaptive refresh rate that maxes out at 120Hz. For the Pura 70 Ultra, Huawei has equipped the handset with an all-new “Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass,” which combines its standard Kunlun Glass with a special Crystal Armor scratch-resistant layer. All three phones do come with IP68 certification.

In terms of looks, the HUAWEI Pura 70 series features a unique-looking camera module, which easily outsizes those found on competing smartphones. The base model Pura 70 comes in black and white editions, as well as a Cherry Rose Pink model. Meanwhile, the Pura 70 Pro comes in more basic black and white options; for the Pura 70 Ultra, Huawei offers a more elegant-looking embossed texture made with vegan leather, and will be available overseas in Green, Brown and Black.
