Even though the iPhone 5S leaks need to be doused with a pinch of salt, as do all Apple leaks and rumours, these new photos and specs seem legit, with focus on already rumoured and leaked features.
The first is the 12MP camera, Apple’s big step up in the photo arena, as they try to take on the Galaxy S4’s 13MP camera and the HTC One’s 4 Ultrapixel camera. With Nokia recently unveiling the Lumia 1020, with a 41MP camera, we can see Windows Phone being the optimal place for mobile photographers.
Apple will a 1136×640 pixels IGZO display to the iPhone 5S, meaning less battery consumption on high brightness levels. The phone will remain 4-inches, as we expected. We doubt Apple will tamper with the design of the iPhone 5S, leaving everything for the iPhone 6.
Internally the iPhone 5S will come with the same dual-core A6 chip, this time it will be packed with 2GB of RAM. We believe the extra RAM is for iOS7 multitasking, although Apple never publishes this information so we have to question how the leaker obtained it.
The fingerprint sensor is still being leaked everywhere and Apple’s recent interest in the company that developed Kinect sensor technology, alongside their acquisition of AuthenTec, seems to cement the idea they are doing something with security and payments on the iPhone 5S.
