What's This?

Jaguar’s recent – and massive – pivot with its branding strategy was a bold move. While its new marketing angle was met with quite a flurry of reactions online, but it’s clear that the British manufacturer is pushing forward with its new plans, both in terms of brand recognition and vehicular design. With that in mind, Jaguar recently unveiled its new Type 00 concept car during Miami Art Week 2025.

The Type 00 aligns with the company’s “Copy Nothing” manifesto, a new campaign with which Jaguar aims to redefine the brand moving forward. As such, Jaguar has pretty much designed the Type 00 to resonate with both luxury car lovers and even art enthusiasts, with a design that’s rarely seen on expensive cars these days. The company even describes it as a “physical manifestation” of its new “Exuberant Modernism” philosophy towards product design.

The Type 00 concept features a long bonnet accented by a sweeping roofline and fastback profile that builds on established design principles seen on most electric vehicles on the market these days, with a twist. The Type 00 also packs 23-inch alloy wheels in addition to flush surfaces all around, a glassless rear tailgate, and a panoramic roof with body-harmonized glazing. The car also features butterfly doors which open up to a rather spacious interior, which itself features a minimalist – albeit premium-looking – style.

The built-in display also serves as a replacement for the more “traditional” rear-view mirror, allowing for a cleaner look overall. Of course, the Type 00 likewise integrates the new Jaguar logo, as well as an updated version of the signature “leaper” icon which is synonymous with the brand. It’s certainly an eye-catching design that’s not often seen on the road. Adrian Mardell, CEO at Jaguar-Land Rover comments:

The magic of Jaguar is close to my heart – an original British luxury brand unmatched in its heritage, artistry and emotional magnetism. That’s the Jaguar we are recapturing and we will create the same sense of awe that surrounded iconic models like the E‑type. Our journey is already underway, guided by our original ethos to Copy Nothing – and the results will be spectacular.

In addition to the Type 00, Jaguar also confirmed that it’s working on its first reimagined production car, a fully electric four-door GT. The vehicle (which is currently under wraps) is expected to be revealed in late 2025 and will be built in the UK. The vehicle will also utilize the company’s all-new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), which on paper translates to a range of up to 770km WLTP (478 miles) and 430 miles (692km) EPA, with the ability to add 321km (200 miles) of charge in a mere 15 minutes.
