It seems the Nexus 5 story may not be so flat out, with new rumours saying LG will not develop the next Nexus device and Motorola will be taking charge of development and manufacturing.
We have heard Motorola will be the developer before, but the past two weeks have been full with LG Nexus rumours, making us wonder if both smartphone manufacturers will take a stab at the new Nexus device.
Yesterday, a leaked photo of the LG Nexus 5 was released – the phone came with a removable plastic back, making us question if it really is the Nexus 5. Previous rumours said a glass back should be expected and it should be sealed with expandable storage.
A new report says the LG “Nexus 5” picture yesterday will most likely be the Optimus F9 II, a new smartphone coming out in Q4. The interest is not on the new Optimus phone though, the interest is what smartphone maker will co-op with Google on the Nexus smartphone.
The newest Nexus device is expected to come with Android Key Lime Pie. This new OS update will bring intense battery life, boosting a phone with 8 hours to 24 hours, reportedly. It will also work on the cheapest devices, still running Gingerbread. It is the update to finally end the huge fragmentation on Android.
Motorola could play a part in this, they already have the best smartphones in terms of battery life and the company has the obvious key advantage: it is part of Google.
