What's This?

While it’s been out of the smartphone game for some time now, LG has nevertheless managed to stand out from the rest of the consumer electronics landscape thanks to a wide selection of different products and appliances. In particular, the company recently announced a new batch of UltraGear Gaming Monitors, which pack some impressive hardware features for gaming enthusiasts, and users looking to add a bit of flair to their productivity setup. YS Lee, Vice President and Head of the IT business unit at LG states:

“LG’s new lineup of UltraGear OLED gaming monitors elevates the gaming experience with groundbreaking technologies and a variety of sizes and form factors… LG is dedicated to leading the gaming monitor segment and meeting gamers’ needs, designing innovative products that deliver a deeply satisfying visual and audio performance.”

The new UltraGear lineup includes a 32-inch 4K gaming monitor (model 32GS95UE) with a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms Gray-to-Gray (GtG) response time, and LG’s Dual-Hz feature and Pixel Sound technology. In addition to this, LG is offering larger 39 and 34-inch models with ultra-wide curved screens, namely models 39GS95QE and 34GS95QE.

LG says that with its Dual-Hz feature, the 32GS95UE enables users to switch between 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution at 240Hz and Full-HD (1,920 x 1,080) at 480Hz with a single switch. This can be set via a hotkey or joystick’s directional switch, and will let the monitor quickly swap between different combinations of screen resolution and refresh rate, which will be optimized for whatever software they’re currently running. In addition to the Dual-Hz feature, the 32-inch UltraGear OLED possesses an impressive 0.03ms (GtG) response time that LG says can eliminate motion blur and boost clarity.

In terms of design, the 32GS95UE packs slim bezels and features Pixel Sound technology, which comes with an integrated front-facing sound system complete with two woofers, alongside support for DTS Virtual:X. Interestingly enough, LG has designed the speakers to be located behind the monitor’s OLED panel, which further adds to its slim profile and reduces space taken on your desk.

As mentioned earlier, the UltraGear lineup also includes the larger 34-inch 34GS95QE and 39-inch 39GS95QE, which both feature 800R-curved OLED displays with a wide 21:9 aspect ratio, as well as 3,440 x 1,440 resolution. They also come with LG’s Anti-Glare & Low Reflection Coating, a 4-side borderless design, 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms (GtG) response time, similar to the 32GS95UE. For users who want a bit more screen real estate, LG will also offer two 45-inch monitors and a 27-inch monitor (models 45GS95QE, 45GS96QB and 27GS95QE), all of which feature VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.

At the moment, LG hasn’t mentioned other details such as pricing and a specific launch date, although it says that users can expect more info to be available later in the coming weeks. With CES 2024 approaching, it should be unsurprising to see the new UltraGear monitors make an appearance at the event.
