What's This?

Realme’s penchant for launching phones for different price brackets has certainly resulted in significant success for the company, which initially started out as a sub-brand of Oppo. With that being said, Realme has added a couple of new smartphones to its product lineup with the new Realme 13 Pro series, which are now available in India.

The Realme 13 Pro series includes two models, the Realme 13 Pro+ and Realme 13 Pro – Realme says that both phones pack some impressive photographic capabilities, and come with what is referred to by the company as the industry’s first “AI photography architecture.” As such, the 13 Pro models target the rather crowded midrange market, which at this point is populated by rivals such as Xiaomi and Samsung (especially in India). But does the 13 Pro series manage to stand out? Let’s see what they offer.

First up, let’s talk about that design – Realme has kept things mostly familiar with both phones. At first glance, you’d be forgiven to mistake them for smartphones from a different manufacturer, especially with the large rounded camera island on the rear panel, a common sight on devices from brands like Xiaomi, Honor, and OnePlus to name a few.

Realme has designed the 13 Pro models to stand out though with some pretty unique colour combinations – the phones are available in “Monet Gold,” “Monet Purple,” and “Emerald Green.” Both models come with IP65 rating for a bit of added dust and water protection which is always a welcome inclusion. As with a lot of segment rivals, both the 13 Pro and Pro+ come with massive 6.7-inch displays with a resolution of 1080×2412 pixels.

Taking a look at the inside, Realme has equipped the 13 Pro series with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, paired with an Adreno 710 GPU for gaming and graphics processing. There’s also up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage inside, which outshine more expensive devices from some of the premium brands out there. Realme adds that there’s also a 9-layer cooling system to manage performance.

For imaging, the phones pack some rather impressive hardware – for one, the Realme 13 Pro+ boasts a dual Sony main camera system featuring a 50MP OIS main camera with a Sony LYT-701 sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor, offering 3x optical zoom. The Realme 13 Pro on the other hand, comes equipped with a single 50MP Sony LYT-600 main camera sensor.

Adding to this photography-focused selling point is Realme’s HYPERIMAGE+ AI photography architecture. This combines on-device AI with cloud-based image editing for enhanced features like AI Ultra Clarity, AI Smart Removal, and AI Group Photo Enhance. Both models will be available for pre-order in India starting July 30th through major retailers. The 8GB/128GB variant is priced competitively at ₹26,999, which is around £250 when converted. There’s no word yet on a UK release, but we’re hoping that the phones arrive here soon.
