What's This?

Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside spilled the beans rather early on, saying the Moto X would get a cheaper brother smartphone for Europe and other places outside the US.

Since the announcement a few months ago, Motorola has kept quiet about the cheaper Moto X. The Motorola social media staff have just been telling people to keep waiting for international news and it looks like they will get this news very soon.

Last week a Moto G link appeared on the Motorola website, only to be a taken off a few minutes later. The Google-owned company has now teased the new Moto G, expected to be the cheaper Moto X.

The page shows the Moto X boot-up animation over and over again, underneath reads “Save the Date – 13 November 2013 #MotoG’ pointing at the Moto G announcement on that date.

Motorola’s future plans have been reported on quite a bit but we believe the Moto G is just a cheaper international variant of the Moto X. We questioned if this was a smartwatch or tablet but it seems more like a cheaper smartphone.

According to rumors, the Moto G will come packed with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage, multiple color options and the same 720p display used on the Moto X, giving it a big jolt in battery life.

The creme on the cake is the news the Moto G could cost as little as £130 ($215) off contract, making it one of the cheapest Android devices on the market.

This could be a power move by Motorola and Google to grab control of Europe and Asia, with a cheap off contract device running the latest version of Android, KitKat 4.4, we may see a vast improvements on a lower spec device.
