What's This?

As far as stylus-equipped smartphones are concerned, there are very few brands to choose from in today’s market—there’s obviously Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra line of devices, although folks looking for a more budget-friendly alternative might want to check out Motorola’s Moto G Stylus series, which also come with native stylus support, albeit with midrange specs. In fact, Motorola recently announced a new addition to its Moto G Stylus range with the new 2025 model, which the company markets primarily as a productivity-focused smartphone.

As far as looks are concerned, Motorola has clearly designed the Moto G Stylus to come with a more premium feel. The phone is available in Pantone-inspired colours with a premium leather-like finish, and also comes with IP68 water resistance and MIL-STD-810H certification, which adds a bit of protection against dust, spills, rain, drops up to around 1.5 meters, and submersion in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes, at least on paper. This design wraps around a 6.7-inch Super HD (1220p) pOLED display, which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, making it easily visible when used outdoors.

Of course, the main highlight of the Moto G Stylus 2025 is its built-in pen which Motorola says comes with 6.4x improves responsiveness, at least when compared to older models. It’s also ideal for use with AI features such as Sketch to Image and Google’s Circle to Search, which benefit from having more accurate touch input with the use of a pen. Powering the new Moto G Stylus is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, a mobile SoC designed for more affordable devices. It’s partnered with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and you’ll also find a fairly-large 5,000 mAh battery with 68W charging support.

For photography, you’re getting a 50MP main camera featuring the Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Motorola says that it’s added built-in camera features using AI-based software, which uses a Photo Enhancement Engine to analyze and blend multiple frames, preserving vibrant colors and fine details for professional-looking results in different lighting conditions.

As for pricing, the Moto G Stylus 2025 will retail starting at $399.99, making it cheaper when compared to rivals such as the Google Pixel 9a and iPhone 16e, for example. No word yet on UK pricing, although we’re hoping it makes its way across the pond soon.
