It’s been nearly a week since Tesco accidentally released a cover image of the new Call of Duty on their website. With this there have been no words from Activision or Infinity Ward so this probably means that it was a big oops on Tesco’s part. Visitor’s to the Call of Duty website are instantly shown this new splash page where they are offered to add themselves to the growing mosaic skull image.
The image resembles that of worn by Scott ‘Ghost’ Riley in Modern Warfare 2 which hints that this game could revolve around him. He and Soap (recently deceased) were part of a team in MW2 so with Soap’s recent departure this could signal a continuation of the game, or a revisit to the past but from a different perspective, although the latter seems unlikely.
Tesco also accidentally released a bit info on the new engine that this game is going to be using. Â According to an alleged product description (since removed), Call of Duty: Ghosts “ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.” Source VideoGamer
This could mean that this game is going to be introduced with the new Xbox reveal on the 1st of May or it could be released in the coming weeks after it at E3. This game is set to be this year’s new Call of Duty and also according to one Youtuber, Drift0r with a “very legitimate source” we could be seeing the games “branch out of the Modern Warfare franchise” and the theme of this game will be “set in the future but using current generation weaponry”.
Whilst this all seems a bit too bizarre and out of the blue for a Youtuber, if this guy’s info is legitimate someone in the “Call of Duty machine” is going to get one hell of a come down from the boss. Check Drift0r’s video below and tell us what you think?
