On Wednesday morning the company sent out a number of invitations reading “Don Mattrick and the Xbox team invite you to the Xbox campus for a special unveiling†which no doubt means something massive. Alongside this the company are supposedly going to stream the unveiling live on the Xbox itself but also over Spike TV.
Since the rumors started circulating there has been speculation on whether or not we’ll be seeing Microsoft’s new device, but as Xbox is on the top of the heap console-wise you can see why Microsoft were in no rush to release it. So far this year we’ve had the release of the Wii-U by Nintendo as a last ditch attempt to recover sales and Sony have shown images of the new Playstation 4 which it has claimed will have far better graphics that its predecessor so this could be the last “next generation†show we have from the big three companies for a while. This is Microsofts time to shine.
Whilst this unveiling is 3 weeks before E3 there is no doubt that this will be as history has been before, a release of a console or device at the unveiling and then a few major titles at E3. Such as the Assassin’s Creed IV and Grand Theft Auto V it’ll no doubt be a good show from Microsoft.
