What's This?

After weeks and months of leaks and teasers, Nothing’s CMF sub-brand finally unveiled its first-ever smartphone, the CMF Phone 1. The Phone 1 (not to be confused with the Nothing Phone 1) is part of a new product lineup which includes two other CMF devices, the CMF Watch Pro 2, and CMF Buds Pro 2. This new launch keeps in line with CMF’s budget-friendly approach to hardware, providing Nothing fans with a unique and affordable Android smartphone.

CMF Phone 1

It’s clear that the CMF Phone 1 is designed to be different from Nothing’s flagship smartphone lineup. The first thing that users will notice is the phone’s customizable design, which allows it to work with swappable back cases and accessories. This differs greatly from Nothing’s mainline phones which instead feature an LED-based notification system on the rear.

Inside the phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM. The phone runs on a pretty large (and standard-sized) 5000 mAh battery which should be more than enough to get most users through the day. Upfront you’ll find a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display complete with a 120Hz refresh rate that should provide for a smooth and fluid viewing experience. For optics, the phone features a camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony rear camera and a 16MP selfie camera.

One thing that the CMF Phone 1 has in common with its more premium cousins is the software inside – the phone runs on Nothing OS 2.6, and hopefully this means that it also gets regular and timely software updates as the same time as on Nothing’s other handsets.

CMF Watch Pro 2

The CMF Watch Pro 2 succeeds last year’s CMF Watch Pro, and features a redesigned form factor wtih a rounded watch face, a drastic change from the squared-off look of last year’s wearable. It also features a more versatile design thanks to support for interchangeable bezels, keeping a bit of consistency with the CMF Phone. The watch features a high-resolution 1.32-inch AMOLED always-on display and offers over 100 customizable watch faces, and is able to track over 120 sports modes which should be ideal for users after a workout companion on their wrist.

It also comes with a wide range of health-tracking functions such as keeping an eye on your heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and stress levels, to name a few. Beyond fitness tracking, the CMF Watch Pro 2 also includes the usual array of smartwatch features, including support for Bluetooth calls, music playback control, notifications, remote camera controls, and more. Nothing says that it’s built for an active lifestyle, and is water and dust resistant (IP68) with an impressive battery life of up to 11 days.

CMF Buds Pro 2

Last but not the least are the CMF Buds Pro 2. The new earbuds are equipped with a customizable Smart Dial for easy sound control, dual drivers for immersive HiFi sound, and LDAC technology with Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. There’s also support for advanced Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation of up to 50 dB which blocks out unwanted background noise, while calls are handled by 6 HD microphones with Clear Voice Technology 2.0 and Wind-Noise Reduction 2.0. There’s also support for Spatial Audio Effect, in addition to an impressive 43 hours of total battery life, with a quick 10-minute charge providing seven hours of playback.
