What's This?

OnePlus is no stranger to launching several devices throughout a single year, and the company once again continues this tradition with the arrival of the new OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. While it does come with a lot of similarities to the flagship OnePlus 12, the company has priced it a lot more competitively, meant to take on the likes of the Pixel 8a and more. With that said though, it’s unavailable outside of China at the moment, but that shouldn’t stop us from taking a look at what it’s capable of.

Design and Display

OnePlus has pretty much played it safe with the design of the Ace 3 Pro, going for a look that’s very reminiscent of the OnePlus 12 and other recent high-end OnePlus handsets. The Ace 3 Pro manages to impress from the get-go with its LTPO AMOLED display, which comes with a 1264 x 2780 pixel resolution, and gets super-bright at up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. It also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Available in “Porcelain White,” “Green Field” and “Titanium Silver,” the phone’s entire chassis is also designed to be resilient to most accidental splashes and moisture thanks to an IP65 rating onboard.

Internal Specs and Cameras

Inside the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the same chip that’s running inside the flagship OnePlus 12. It’s aided by 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage, although OnePlus does offer a slightly-more expensive variant with a bit more storage inside. Another major highlight of the phone is the 6,100 mAh battery inside, which features a new “Glacier Battery” technology that works better with heat management and long-term battery usage. The Ace 3 Pro also supports 100W fast-charging which can fully charge the device in less than 40 minutes.

For optics, the phone comes with a camera module that’s pretty similar to the OnePlus 12 – you’ll find a 50MP main camera which is aided by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots.

Pricing and Availability

OnePlus will sell the Ace 3 Pro in four configurations, with RAM options ranging from 12GB to 24GB and storage options from 256GB to 1TB. Prices start at CNY 3,199 (around USD 440) for the 12GB/256GB model and go up to CNY 4,399 (around USD 605) for the 24GB/1TB model. Given that its price doesn’t stray too much from competing handsets such as the Pixel 8a for example, it’s clear that OnePlus has gone all-out with giving buyers a fully-stacked Android phone.

With all that being said, we’re waiting for OnePlus to announce an official global release date, as the Ace 3 Pro is undoubtedly a great-looking choice for folks after a competent midrange smartphone without compromises.
