It’s been quite a busy week for new phone releases, with tons of announcements from different brands including Oppo and Xiaomi to name a couple. With that in mind, Realme likewise announced a new midrange handset in the form of the Realme V60 Pro, which packs some pretty decent specs at a reasonable price. Starting at around 200 EUR, the phone is currently exclusive for Chinese markets, but that hasn’t stopped us from checking out what Realme has to offer with this one.

In terms of overall design, the Realme V60 Pro features a standard look that’s the norm for most Android midrangers these past couple of years. There’s a large 6.67-inch display up front, which features an IPS LCD panel. It’s not an OLED display unfortunately, and the resolution is so-and-so at 720 x 1604 pixels, but you do get a 120Hz refresh rate which should make for a pleasant viewing experience, despite the somewhat-low screen resolution.
Realme says that the phone’s chassis comes with IP69 certification for dust and water resistance, meaning that you can keep it submerged in up to two meters underwater for around 30 minutes. Available in Black, Red and Gold, the phone can supposedly keep dry (at least internally) even when exposed to jets of water from the outside. Other design details include a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Inside, the phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. Given the price, it’s not really surprising to see a mid-tier SoC inside the phone. With that said though, it should be alright for daily usage, and even some gaming every now and then – just don’t go expecting flagship-level performance during your COD Mobile sessions. The Dimensity 6300 is accompanied by 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of built-in storage.
As for camera hardware, the Realme V60 Pro features a multi-camera setup, which is headed by a 50MP main camera aided by a couple of other sensors. The front of the phone meanwhile features an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Powering the phone is a pretty large 5,600 mAh battery, which comes with support for 45W fast-charging speeds and 5W reverse charging.
Finally, Realme has chosen to ship the phone with Android 14 onboard, which is a bit of a shame although somewhat understandable, given that Android 15 has yet to become available for all manufacturers, and that’s including Realme. It also features Realme UI 5.0, which means that users get access to some exclusive apps and Android features from Realme, as well as pre-installed third-party applications.
Going back to its name, the Realme V60 Pro might have a bit of difficulty justifying the “Pro” part of its name, given the limitations on hardware such as the midrange chip, unimpressive display and run-of-the-mill design. However, its low price tag does make it a tempting offer, and buyers might want to check it out if all they’re after is an affordable Android phone – provided it manages to launch outside of China.
