Recently, Samsung announced that it was launching the latest iteration of its premium laptop range, the Galaxy Book4 series. While the new batch of Windows-powered laptops comes in three different flavours, it’s undeniable that the maxed-out Galaxy Book4 Ultra is the most attractive variant, especially with all the included bells and whistles which make for a well-rounded package.
With that in mind, the Book4 Ultra – as well as the base and Pro models – won’t make their way to global markets anytime soon, as Samsung plans to launch the Book4 series initially in South Korea starting at around 2,600 USD. Nevertheless, you’re probably curious as to what you can expect with Samsung’s newest Windows machine, and with that in mind we’ve put together a quick list of must-know details about the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra – let’s take a look!
Design and Screen
As with previous Galaxy Book models (and most modern laptops on the market nowadays), the Book4 Ultra comes in a sleek and slim-looking build thanks to a metal body, which surrounds the entirety of the laptop. Despite the large display it’s not too bulky too handle, unlike other 16-inch laptops which feature large bezels around the borders.
The Book4 Ultra is equipped with a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen, which comes with support for touch input. It’s also reasonably sharp thanks to its 2880 x 1800 pixel resolution, and a variable refresh rate that goes up to 120hz, making for a rather smooth visual experience.
Connectivity Options
Like most modern laptops, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra comes with support for USB type-C connectivity. Users will have access to two USB-C ports on the side of the laptop, although there’s a more “traditional” USB type-A port as well. Should you need to hook it up to a larger external display or such, there’s also a built-in HDMI 2.1 port, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack (hurrah).
Internal Hardware and Performance
Samsung will be selling the Galaxy Book4 Ultra in different hardware configurations, although this might vary by region. To start things off, there’s a base model which comes with a 14th Generation Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. With that said however, there’s an even more powerful variant that buyers can opt for, which packs a 14th-gen Core Ultra 9 cpu, up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of internal storage.
There’s also a choice between an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM, or an Nvidia GeForce RTX 470 GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM.
Built-in AI
The last couple of years have been an interesting one for consumer electronics – mobile equipment manufacturers such as Qualcomm and MediaTek have incorporated Generative AI capabilities into their new chipsets, and even big names like Google have sought cloud-based solutions to bring AI features to mobile phones.
With that in mind, the Galaxy Book4 Ultra also comes with generative AI capabilities. Inside the laptop is a built-in neural processing unit (NPU) that is responsible for on-device AI processing, meaning that users will have little trouble using the Book4 Ultra’s generative AI capabilities when offline.
Battery Specs
Powering all of this is a 76WHr battery, which is built to support 140W USB PD charging. Thankfully, most laptops on the market still ship with bundled charging bricks and cables, and this remains the same with the Galaxy Book4 Ultra, which will come with a 140W USB Type-C charger inside the box.
