Android users always crave the newest operating system, but with the current system fragmentation, it is unlikely last generation smartphones will get updates to the latest version.
This may not be true with the Galaxy S3, the first phone to outmatch the iPhone in sales worldwide. Samsung may be trying to push the Galaxy S4 to the masses, but there are still plenty of buyers wanting the Galaxy S3.
The Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update will bring more to the device than just another flavour of Android, it will bring most of Samsung’s new software applications to the device.
Included in this package, leaked earlier this week, is the S Voice app with two screen modes:Â Adapt Display and Professional Photo. Ripple and lighting effects, lock screen widgets, customisable messages, quick toggles, driving mode, amongst other small changes, will also be part of the update.
Reports say this new update will come in June, next month and Samsung will try to keep all news on the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S3 is still a very popular device and we can see why Samsung would want to continue work, even if it effects sales of the S4.
