It has been long coming for the Galaxy s4 to get Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly bean especially after the release of the new Samsung Galaxy Gear which only supported Galaxy devices with 4.3 and up.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear was only compatible with the Galaxy Note 3 at launch which was not welcomed for any Galaxy fans who wanted to get their hands on Samsung’s smart watch. Now those users can get the watch to interact with their S4 devices.
Besides the compatibility with the Galaxy Gear, 4.3 Jellybean update should also also bring new features such as
- Open GL 3.0,
- Samsung Knox,
- TRIM support,
- Improved RAM management,
- Improved display colour reproduction,
- Improved launcher with less glitches,
- New keyboard,
- New and improved Samsung browser,
- Samsung Wallet,
- Reading Mode,
- Camera firmware update,
- Some minor UI tweaks.
Android 4.3 can be downloaded to the Galaxy S4 over-the-air. You can do so by going to Settings > More > About device > Software update.
