Following the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 two weeks ago, the South Korean electronics giant may already be prepared to release the smaller and cheaper version of the device.
The Galaxy S4 is currently not out or even available for pre-order, but AT&T and T-mobile have both announced pre-order plans, Verizon and Sprint will most assuringly have the device in stock and up for pre-order soon as well.
Analysts are split down the middle with the success of the Galaxy S4, while many believe Samsung’s international dominance and marketing will boost the phone to the top, others believe due to the HTC One, Xperia Z and the vast amount of smartphones and operating systems coming out, Samsung will have a harder time flogging the Galaxy S4.
The Galaxy S4 Mini has been reported for a mid-June early-July launch, but a new SamMobile tipster told them Samsung could release the new smartphone as soon as next week. The Galaxy S3 Mini did moderately well in sales, but nothing compared to the Galaxy S3.
We believe Samsung will adopt the same strategy of making the Galaxy S4 Mini smaller, to about 4.0 to 4.5-inches. The smartphone will be mid-range, with a dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, normal storage offerings and other mid-range specs.
According to the report, the Galaxy S4 Mini will be a dual-SIM and will come with Android 4.2.2 and TouchWiz. We suspect the smartphone will come unlocked for a price or for a cheap contract deal.
